JUNE'S FIREFIGHTERS OF THE MONTH
The Susquehanna Hose Company awarded 3 Firefighters of the Month for the month of June.

Chief Scott Hurst received firefighter of the month for his work overseeing and conducting the Insurance Services Office (ISO) Review.  Many months of preparation went into the ISO Review and the SHCO received a Class 2 rating, which SHCO shares with Baltimore City as the best in the State of Maryland.  There are only 61 fire departments in the United States that have a better rating.  Chief Hurst put hundreds of hours into the ISO review, but acknowledges that its the members of the SHCO that deserves all the credit.  "It was their hard work and dedication that put SHCO in this elite class".

Deputy Chief Chad Packard also received firefighter of the month for assisting Chief Hurst with the ISO Presentation to the public on July 1st.  Deputy Chief Packard assembled a very informative slide show and presentation for the public.  Deputy Chief Packard did a fantastic job explaining how the ISO works and the results from the review.

Captain Scott Pentz also received firefighter of the month for his hard work and dedication at this years Firemans Convention in Ocean City.  Captain Pentz was in charge of making sure SHCO was well represented at different functions and making sure the other SHCO delegates carried out their duties.  This was Scott's first year doing this and hopefully first of many years.  Congrats to all of the Junes Firefighters of the Month.
