On Tuesday afternoon at 1512 hours the box alarm was struck for 629 North Stokes Street in the 501 box area. Chief 5 Chief 5-1 Chief 5-2 Engine 512 Engine 513 Engine 514 Engine 515 and Tower 5 marked up by 1515 hours. Dispatch advised all units enroute of a kitchen fire at location. Chief 5-2 was first on scene at 1513 hours and advised of nothing evident from a two story single family. Upon Engine 512s arrival at 1515 hours command advised the fire was out prior to arrival of the Fastest Volunteers. Engine 512s crew checked for any extension which proved negative and then set up positive ventilation at the front door. Command then held the assignment to Engine 512 placing all remaining Hose Company units ready for service. Engine 512 remained on scene for approximately 10 minutes and then cleared. Chief 5 Hurst had the North Stokes Street command.
