nbspAt approximately 1230 on Wed. afternoon the Hose Company was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 501 box on Hoppers lane. Shortly after the alert E-512 E-514 E-513 E-515 T-531 all responded with about 30 firefighters. Units were advised this was now going to be a building fire at the AAAA Driving School. Engine 512 arrived at 632 Erie Street with a 2 and a half story taxpayer with smoke showing from the BC corner. The crew of 6 men was split into two and went to work with limited command until the arrival of the next engine company officer. Crew found a fire located in the basement at the bottom of the stairwell. The fire was held in check by a burst water pipe on one side and a can the crew brought up while waiting on the pipe to arrive at the door. Once the pipe was in service the crew encountered a can of gasoline that burst while they were making the attack. The crew made quick work of the fire. Crews knocked the fire checked for extension and performed minor salvage and overhaul while awaiting the arrival of an FM in under 20 minutes.nbsp Firefighter Richie Berg had the Erie Street Command.
