On Monday morning at 1208am the box alarm was put out for 102 Seneca Avenue in the 504 box. Deputy Chief 5 Chief 5-1 Chief 5-2 Engine 512with 7 Engine 513with 4 Engine 514with 6 Engine 515with 8 Mini-Pumper 545with 3 Rescue 551with 2 and Tower 531with 6 all called enroute by 1212am. Chief 5-2 was first to arrive 1210 with heavy smoke showing from 102 and 104 Seneca Avenue from a single story duplex. Engine 514 was next to arrive 1211am and stretched a preconnected 1 34 inch handline to the front door of 102 Seneca. Crews entered the dwelling finding heavy smoke conditions on the interior and heavy fire conditions in the rear of the dwelling with extension into the attic. Engine 512 was next to arrive and was instructed by command to supply Engine 514 with their water and then to head to the roof to begin venting. Engine 515 was next to arrive and hit the plug at the corner of Wilson Street and Seneca avenue and supplied Engine 514. As remaining units were arriving they were instructed by command to complete various tasks. The fire was placed under control approximately 10 minutes after the arrival of the first Engine and crews began overhaul. Crews were committed to the scene for approximately 90 minutes and then cleared. The fire is currently under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshalls Office.
