At around 2300 on Wednesday night the box was struck bringing the Hose Company along with 5-9 Aberdeen Proving Ground Sta. 12 for the truck for a Building fire with rescue. Deputy Chief 5 was first to arrive with heavy smoke showing. Chief 5 arrived shortly there after and assumed the Hose Company Command and asked dispatch to put out the working fire dispatch and start the RIT engine. C-5 originally requested 514 to be the attack piece and 512 to be supply however due to the traffic 512 was able to come the wrong way down Route 40 to side A of the structure and became the attack piece with 514 supplying. 512s crew advanced a 250 1 line with a smooth bore tip. While flaking the line out 2 members from 514 joined 512s crew at the door. Crews made entry making the primary and looking for the seat of the fire. Crews encountered lots of smoke and a decent amount of heat however the fire wasnt showing itself. DC-5 then advised interior crews that they now had fire showing in the rear side C of the structure and advised 515 and 513 to proceed to the rear and bring a line. Crews began opening up and made quick work of the fire. The fire was knocked in about 10 minutes crews continued to search the structure. Both primary and secondary searches proved negative. Crews remained on scene for approximately an hour and 45 minutes overhauling placing the box under control and racking up. The Fire Marshall was requested and the fire in under investigation at this time.
