pOn Friday at 1850 hours the Hose Company was alerted to investigate the CO Detector activation at 561 Congress Avenue 502 box area.nbsp Chief 5 Chief 5-1 Chief 5-2 Engine 512 amp Quint 5 marked up shortly after alert.nbsp Units arrived at 1854 hours and found carbon monoxide emitting from the furnace at which time command requested BGampE.nbsp Crews cut power to the furnace and began ventilating the dwelling which had levels of over 100 parts per million of CO.nbsp During this time command requested additional crews from Tower 5 and Rescue 5 to check the adjacent dwellings.nbsp Crews found levels of CO around 70 parts per million and 30 parts per million in the adjacent dwellings and began venting each.nbsp Three patients were evaluated by Company 5-9 and Company 2 however all three refused treatment.nbspppIf not for the carbon monoxide detector activation and the response of the Hose Company this situation couldve been much worse.nbsp Remember that smoke detectors amp carbon monoxide detectors can save livesnbsp For a FREE smoke detector click the link on the left hand side of our home page and be sure to include your name address and phone number.p
