On Tuesday evening at 1830 hours Hose Company crews met at Meadowvale Elementary School for a surprise drill. After arriving the school Chief Hurst instructed the crews that they would be having a drill at the Vulcan Quarry and would receive instructions while enroute to the quarry. As crews were mounting up Chief Hurst dispatched a Fire Rescue box at the Vulcan Quarry for a conveyor belt on fire with a subject trapped in a tunnel. Hose Company crews arrived shortly after and were given various tasks to complete. After completing the simulated rescue crews were given a tour of the quarry by the plant leader. Hose Company crews remained at the quarry until approximately 2040 hours and then returned home. It was a good night of training for all involved and the Hose Company would like to send a special thanks to the Vulcan Quarry for hosting the drill.
