Just before 3am this morning, the SHCo was dispatched for a fuel spill at the scene of a non-injury crash, on northbound I-95 at the 88.8 mile marker. Just as crews got on scene & began their investigation, they heard another crash happen near the initial scene. A quick investigation found that two tractor trailers had collided and one of the drivers was heavily entrapped. Crews quickly went to work stabilizing the tractor and began extrication. Due to the severity of the entrapment, command requested the Shock Trauma Go Team and aviation for the entrapped patient. As crews continued to work on extricating the patient, the Go Team arrived on scene and began their assessment. After two hours and four minutes, the patient was extricated and then loaded into Trooper 1, for transport to Shock Trauma. Crews then began to pick up and returned to service.
