On Wednesday at 0914 hours the Hose Company and Company 5-9 were alerted for the 10-50 PI at the intersection of Ohio Street Ontario Street. Deputy Chief 5 Chief 5-1 Engine 511 Engine 515 Rescue 5 Tower 5 marked up shortly after alert. Dispatch advised all units that they were receiving reports of a two vehicle MVA with an unresponsive pediatric patient. Deputy Chief 5 was first to arrive at 0915 hours and advised of a two vehicle MVA involving a dump truck and minivan with an unconscious pediatric and quickly established patient care. Remaining Hose Company units arrived shortly after assisted with patient care and began checking for hazards. Based on the patient being unconscious for a period of approximately five minutes command requested aviation to the helipad. Hose Company crews remained on scene until the patient was transported to the helipad and then cleared. The patient was then transported by Trooper 1 to a Baltimore area trauma center. Deputy Chief 5 Packard held the Ohio Street command.Also during this time the Hose Company responded on a cardiac arrest in the 502 box area and also a gas leak inside in the 211 box.
