On Sunday night around the midnight hour the Hose Company was alerted for two engines to respond and assist crews on a second alarm building fire Citrus and Allied in the Riverside Industrial Park 420 box area. Engine 513 w8 and Engine 515 w9 marked up immediately after alert. While Engine 513 and Engine 515 were enroute the Hose Company was alerted for two additional engines to make their response. Engine 512 w6 and Engine 514 w8 were just wrapping up from a 211 box odor of smoke in the dwelling and advised dispatch that they would be making their response. Initial callers were reporting an explosion in the building and that all employees would be evacuating. Truck 831 was first on the scene and advised of a two story commercial building with nothing showing from the alpha side. As crews from Companies 2 4 8 were entering the building they found smoke conditions on the interior and then upgraded to fire showing from a section of the building. The sprinkler system in the building had activated which kept the fire in check until crews could fully extinguish the fire. Engine 515 was intially instructed to set up staging for all the second alarm equipment however shortly after command advised the engine to move up to the Bravo Side and the Engines OIC Lt. Larson to become the Safety Officer. Captain 5-2 Goll Jr. became the staging officer after his arrival on Engine 512 Engine OIC. Hose Company crews remained on the scene until approximately 0240 hours and then cleared.
