On Sunday morning at approximately 0130 hours the box alarm was struck for the Adult Book Store in the 540 box area bringing the Hose Company and Cecil County Station 6 with an Engine. Chief 5 Deputy Chief 5 Chief 5-1 Chief 5-2 Engine 511 Engine 512 Engine 513 Engine 514 Engine 515 Mini-Pumper 5 Rescue 5 and Tower 5 marked up shortly after alert. Dispatch advised the Hose Company units that they were receiving calls reporting fire to the rear of the Adult Book Store at 225 Pulaski Highway. Chief 5 then advised dispatch that there is not an Adult Book Store at 225 Pulaski Highway and that Hose Company units would be investigating the Book Store at Pulaski Highway Post Road and also the Book Store at Pulaski Highway and Oakington Road. Engine 514 was first to arrive at the Book Store at Pulaski Highway and Oakington Road with fire showing from the Charlie Side of a one story commericial building and requested the next arriving engine 512 to bring them a line from the nearest plug. Due to Pulaski Highway and Oakington Road being in the 201 box area dispatch struck the 201 box alarm bringing two engines from Company 2 and Truck 1231 from the Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire Department. Engine 514s crew then stretched an inch and three-quarter preconnected handline to the rear where they found a trash fire with exposure to the buildling. Engine 514s crew quickly knocked the fire on the exterior and requested Tower 5s crew to check for any extension on the interior. Thankfully for the quick response of the Fastest Volunteers crews found only minor fire extension in the attic as well as only minor smoke damage on the interior of the store. Hose Company crews remained on scene for approximately one hour and then cleared. The fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshals Office. Chief 5 Hurst had the Pulaski Highway command.
