pThe Susquehanna Hose Company awarded 5 Firefighters of the Month for the month of October.nbsp The Fire Prevention Committee consisting of Joe Steelman Melvin Wolinski and Ron Cardwell once again did a fantastic job conducting our Open House on October 16.nbsp Over 1000 people attended a day that included basket rides in the Tower Rides on R551 E513 and E511nbspa Rescue Demo a Dive Team Demo and a K-9 Demo.nbsp SHCO also gave out over 60 smoke detectors that day along with food and fire prevention literature.nbsp Great job by the Fire Prevention Committee.nbsp Firefighter Ed Grainger also received Firefighter of the Month for his work on Tower 531 the night before and the day of the Open House.nbsp Tower 531 blew a antifreeze line going to a call the night before and Ed not only saved the SHCO money he had the Tower in service for the basket rides at the Open House and we all know what a hit the basket rides are.nbspppAssistant Chief Steve Allers also recieved the Firefighter of the Month for October for his completion of Fit Tests and Flow Tests on our SCBA.nbsp Steve coordinates and ensures all SHCO members are fit tested over a 3 day span and that over 70 SCBAs are flow tested per standards.nbsp These 3 days are long days for Steve and this is on top of him making every call for the month of October.nbsp Congrats to all for a job well done.p
