pOn Monday at 2019 hours as Hose Company members were attending the monthly meeting the Fire Rescue Box was struck for 518 Franklin Street.nbsp Chief 5 Deputy Chief 5 Chief 5-1 Chief 5-2 Engine 511 Engine 512 Engine 513 Engine 514 Mini-Pumper 5 Quint 5 Rescue 5 and Tower 5 marked up immediately after alert.nbsp Deputy Chief 5 was first to arrive at 2021 hours with fire showing from the third floor of a three story dwelling converted to apartments.nbsp Engine 512 arrived immediately after split their crew of 10 in to two crews pulled their quot7quot and quot8quot pre-connected handlines and quickly advanced in to the building.nbsp Crews conducted a rapid primary search of the fire floor and floor below which proved negative and started knocking fire on the third floor.nbsp A quick knock was made and crews began to open up.nbsp While this was occurring remaining crews were throwing ladder to all sides and conducting primary amp secondary searches negative.nbsp ppPrior to the arrival of Hose Company units Firefighter Tom Phelan was first on scene and assisted two occupants from the third floor off of the charlie side roof and also assisted another occupant out of the building.ppCommand placed the fire under control approximately 10 minutes after arrival and crews then began to pick up.nbsp Both occupants of the third floor apartment were transported to a Baltimore Trauma Center and one firefighter was transported to a local hospital for minor lacerations.nbsp The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office.nbsp Chief 5 Hurst held the quotFranklin Streetquot command.p
