As the clock struck 3am this morning, the 0504 fire box was transmitted for the reported house fire in the 400 block of Battery Drive. Deputy Chief 5 was first on scene, reported fire showing to the rear of the two story row, quickly began his 360, and reported patio furniture on fire to the rear. Engine 512 was next to arrive, stretched to the rear & quickly began knocking the fire. Crews confirmed there was no extension to the dwelling and the assignment was then held to SHCo units, placing mutual aid from Level Volunteer Fire Company, Aberdeen Fire Department, Inc. & Aberdeen Proving Ground Fire & Emergency Services in service.
