Just after 2pm today, the 0540 Fire Box was transmitted for the reported house fire in the 900 block of Otsego Street. As units began marking up, Harford County Department of Emergency Services Fire Dispatch advised they were receiving multiple calls, some of which advised there was possible entrapment. Deputy Chief 5 was first on scene and reported fire showing from the single family dwelling, with all occupants out. As crews began making entry, they found a large volume of fire rapidly advancing, due to strong winds. As the strong winds were hampering suppression efforts, crews also experienced an issue with the hydrants in the area. This resulted in command requesting two additional Engine Companies. Crews continued to work, extinguishing the blaze, before command began placing units ready for service after approximately an hour. One occupant was evaluated by EMS, however refused transport, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
