As the Fall season finally arrived on Friday night the Hose Company was alerted for the chimney fire at 131 Remington Circle in the 558 box area. Chief 5 Chief 5-2 Engine 511 Engine 512 Engine 513 Engine 514 Engine 515 Tower 5 and Rescue 5 marked up shortly after alert. Chief 5 was first to arrive and advised of sparks from the chimney of the middle of the group townhouse at 135 Remington Circle. Engine 515 arrived shortly after and was advised by command to have their crew investigate the dwelling. As remaining units were arriving Engine 515s crew extinguished the fire in the fire place and began checking the chimney. As three members of Engine 515s crew were in the basement with the fire place two other crews members checked the second and third floors with a thermal imaging camera for any signs of extension. As this was being done Tower 5 was instructed by command to stick the roof and check the chimney. Crews found no evidence of any extension nor fire in the chimney. Command then held the assignment to Engine 515 Tower 5 placing the remaining units ready. Hose Company crews remained on scene for approximately 10 more minutes and then cleared. Chief 5 Hurst had the Remington Circle command.
