At the September Company meeting active Station 52 member John Jack Mack Mclhinney was awarded a plaque and a cake for 60 years of active service to the Susquehanna Hose Company Jacks father served as an Assistant Chief to the hose Company from 1939-1951 and this is what would spark Jacks interest in the fire service. Once Jack turned 16 he received his parents permission to join the company He joined on September 9th 1946. Although Jack was restricted to exterior firefighting activities at this time he could handle the nozzle at brush fires. Jack was also part of the companies marching band and assisted with many extracurricular activities. Jack can be found at Station 52 on a daily basis and you will most certainly find him in Ocean City every year for the Annual Maryland State Fireman Convention which is the highlight of the year for him.
