The Susquehanna Hose Company recently assisted & guided Girl Scout Nadia Burton with completing a life saving project, which resulted in Nadia being awarded the Girl Scouts Silver Award.
The Silver Award is the highest award a cadette girl scout can earn. At the Silver Award level, scouts work to develop and implement a sustainable solution to an issue they care about. Silver Award recipients have distinguished themselves as growing change-makers, who take the lead in sharing ideas & working with experts to assist with their project. Receiving the award also requires 50 hours of work, along with approval by the Silver Award committee.
The SHCo assisted with providing the AED and guiding Nadia through the proper process & channels, to help her complete this very important life saving project.
Congratulations, Nadia, and a job well done!!
This makes the fifth outdoor, public AED installed in Havre de Grace, within the last two years, with two more planned for 2026.
As marked on the AED housing, if one of these life saving devices is ever needed, dial 911 & you will be provided instructions for gaining access and using the device.
