Just after 11am this morning, the 570-South Rescue Box was transmitted for the report of an overturned kayak, with one in the water, in the Susquehanna River just off Pennington Avenue. Marine 5 was underway within three minutes from the time of dispatch and arrived on scene within six minutes from the time of dispatch. Once on scene, the crew found a kayaker that was stuck in the mud and clearly exhausted from attempting to free themselves. The crew of Marine 5 completed the rescue within ten minutes from the time of dispatch and the patient was then transported to a local hospital, by Havre De Grace Ambulance Corps, to be evaluated. Great job by all those involved.
