On Tuesday night the members of Division 5 got a surprise visit fromnbspMayor Correri as they were getting ready to go train with Minipumpernbsp545.nbsp The Hose Company would once again like to thank the Mayornbspand City Council for all their help with the purchase of the newnbsppiece.nbsp While several Divisions were out training the Hose Company was alertednbspfor a report of an apartment fire in Battery Village.nbsp Chief 5-1nbspChief 5-2 Engine 512 Engine 513 Engine 514 Engine 515 Tower 531nbspRescue 551 Utility 572 and Utility 575 called enroute shortly afternbspalert.nbsp Engine 514 was first to arrive and advised there wasnbspnothing evident from the alpha side of a middle of the groupnbsptownhome.nbsp Engine 515 arrived at the same time as Engine 514 andcrews entered the residence to investigate.nbsp Crews found lightsmoke conditions on the interior and after investigating the residencecame to find there was a furnace malfunction.nbsp Ventilation wasthen applied and units began to clear.
