pOn Wednesday at 2305 hours the 503 Fire Rescue box was struck for the reported apartment fire with people trapped at 509 Girard Street. nbspDeputy Chief 5 Chief 5-2 amp Engine 512 were first on scene with fire showing from the delta side of the two story multi-family. nbspEngine 512 had laid out from the plug at Girard amp Union and stretched 7 250 amp 8 200 to the delta side stairwell. nbspThe crew found fire meeting them in the hallway amp quickly starting knocking amp making the push. nbspEngine 513 Engine 514 amp Quint 5 were next on scene and began throwing ladders to all sides of the dwelling while also going in to assist opening up. nbspThe fire was quickly knocked amp all searches proved negative. nbspDuring this time Engine 515 established RIT on side alpha amp the Towers crew also assisted with opening up amp checking for extension. nbspThree occupants sustained minor injuries one of which was transported to a local hospital. nbspHose Company crews operated until approximately 0230 hours. nbspThe cause of the fire was determined to be childs play by the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office and Chief 5 Hurst held the command.ppOther units on scene Rescue 5 Utility 572 Engine 211 Company 5-9 Medic Units Paramedic 1ppp
