On Monday afternoon Company 5 was alerted to respond a Marine unit tonbspassist Cecil County Station 7 with a water rescue.nbsp Subjectsnbspoperating a boat had struck a rock approximately one 14 mile south ofnbspthe Conowingo Dam and were stranded.nbsp Chief 5 Chief 5-2 DivenbspUnit 585 and Marine 553 called enroute to the Lapidum landing shortlynbspafter alert.nbsp Once arriving there Marine 553 launched and headednbspnorth on the river.nbsp After obtaining a visual on the subjects itnbspwas found that rescue crews were unable to reach the subjects by boatnbspdue to the depth of thenbsp water.nbsp While Marine 553 remained in thenbspwater Dive Unit 585 Chief 5 and Chief 5-2 went enroute to the oldnbspcarinval grounds in the area of Route 1 and Route 161.nbsp Oncenbsparriving there the units activated a command post.nbsp Channel 11snews helicopter was in the area and assisted crews with obtaining avisual on the subjects.nbsp Command then requested Trooper 1 andTrooper 6 and the subjects were air-lifted from the boat and taken toland.nbsp A job well done by all crews involved.
