The Susquehanna Hose Company is pleased to place in service a community AED, located at HDG’s James R. Harris Stadium, 200 North Juniata Street. This community AED can be accessed 24 hours a day by dialing 911 and obtaining a code to open the AED cabinet. In addition, the AED cabinet also contains Narcan and a STOP THE BLEED kit. The AED is located at the main entrance to the stadium at the ticket booth. This is the Susquehanna Hose Company’s third AED installed at fields used by the Havre de Grace Recreation and Sports Programs. The other two are Chapel Fields located on Chapel Road and Alfred B Hilton Park located on Gravel Hill Road. The Susquehanna Hose Company would like to thank Shawn Hurst and Solvay Chemicals for the purchase of the three AED cabinets. Chapel Fields and Alfred B Hilton Parks AEDs will be seasonal, from March 15th to December 1st, due to not having electric and heat. However, James R. Harris Stadium will be available 365 days a year due to having electric to the cabinet. Our hopes are that this project will lead to other Harford County High School Stadiums installing AED’s.
A project like this is very involved and there are many thanks that need to be made. First and foremost, Harford County Government County Executive Bob Cassilly and Director of Administration Robert McCord. This Stadium project does not happen without your support the last few weeks. THANK YOU. Next, a big thank you to our biggest supporter, 365 days a year, County Council President Pat Vincenti. In addition, a heartfelt thank you to Harford County Department of Emergency Services Director Richard Ayres and Public Safety Support Specialist Rob Glassman for your continued support to get this project across the finish line. SHCo would also like to thank Harford County Public Schools Assistant Superintendent for Operations Cornell S. Brown Jr, HCPS Administrative Support Coordinator Lauren Guggenheimer, HCPS Director of Health and Wellness Joseph Harbert and Supervisor of Health Services Mary Nasuta for your support of this project. Last but not least, we would like to thank Havre De Grace High School Principal Brad Spence for your letter in support of this project.
