On Friday at 1303 hours the box was struck for 556 Warren Street in apartment number 7. E512 and E515 were filling Cecil County Stations 5 and 6. Chief 5-1 Chief 5-2 Engine 513 w3 Engine 514 w4 Engine 515 w5 responding back from Cecil County Station 6 Mini-Pumper 5 w1 Tower 5 w4 Rescue 5 w4 and Utility 572 marked up immediately after alert. Dispatch advised all units of a gas stove on fire in the kitchen and believed the kitchen was off. Chief 5-2 Utility 572 and Engine 513 were first on scene at 1305 hours with nothing showing from the alpha side. As crews entered the apartment they found a small kitchen fire and requested a line. Command advised the fire was knocked with crews opening up at 1309 hours and held the assignment to Company 5 units. After all checks for extension proved negative command held one and one until the arrival of the FM. Crews remained on scene for approximately thirty additional minutes and then cleared. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshals Office. Chief 5-1 Carroll held the Warren Street command.
