At 1147 hours, the Hose Company and Company 5-9 were alerted as the southbound assignment, with Company 2 as the northbound assignment, for the motor vehicle crash with injuries on Northbound I-95 at mile marker 89.0. As units marked up, Harford County Fire Dispatch advised they were receiving conflicting reports on where this incident was located, some callers reporting northbound & others reporting southbound. Medic 591 was the first unit to enter the highway & after proceeding north from Route 155, advised the incident was located on the northbound right shoulder just beyond the Route 155 overpass. Quint 535 then entered the highway by proceeding south on the Northbound I-95 off ramp and then north on the highway before reporting a two vehicle crash with one vehicle on top of the other with one female in the upper vehicle, two possible patients on the hill side, and requested the rescue assignment. The Quint’s crew quickly went to work stabilizing the vehicle with their Rescue 42 struts, as Engine 213 arrived shortly after and assisted with stabilization. Once the vehicle was stabilized, the occupant of the vehicle was removed & was placed in the care of Medic 591. That patient later refused transport and one other patient was transported by Medic 591 to Harford Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Crews then picked up, clearing the highway by 1230 hours. Deputy Chief 5 held the I-95 command.
