As everyone knows this past week the Tower committee was out doing the final inspection on new Tower 5. All was going well…until it was time to come home. Over the past week the Mid-West United States has received a heavy dumping of snow and rain. Due to this the Tower Committees flight plan was changed. Initially the committee was supposed to fly from Appleton Wisconsin in to Baltimore. Well due to the weather no flights were coming from Appleton to Baltimore so the crew took a connecting flight from Appleton to Green Bay where they would catch a flight from Green Bay to Baltimore….they thought so anyway. After arriving Green Bay they crew found out that there were no connecting flights from Green Bay to Baltimore. After debating the topic of staying for an extra day for a flight the committee decided to rent a car and travel from Green Bay to Baltimore over night. The committee rented a Ford Explorer which was supposed to have a 3rd row seat. Well it had a 3rd row seat as they were told however the seat was about the size of your average baby car seat. Lieutenant Shawn Forton decided he would take the trusty 3rd row seat for the duration of the ride and the committee was finally on their way home. After being awake for 24 straight hours the committee finally made it back to Maryland at 1000 this morning. Even though it was a long day and night the committee is glad to be home in time for Christmas.
