On Saturday at 0153 hours, the Hose Company & Havre De Grace Ambulance Corps were dispatched for the motor vehicle crash with injuries, at the intersection of Route 155 & Ohio Street. Chief 5-1 was first on scene, at 0159, and reported a single vehicle off the roadway with two patients, one of which was trapped. Quint, Rescue & Tower 5 were next on scene, at 0201, and quickly went to work stabilizing the vehicle, prior to starting extrication. As crews were working on extrication, command requested Maryland State Police – Aviation Command for the entrapped victim, with the landing zone to be setup at the HdG Pizza Hut. Extrication was completed a short time later and the patient was then transported to the landing zone by Havre de Grace EMS, before being airlifted to Shock Trauma. The other patient involved was transported via ground to Johns Hopkins Bayview Trauma.
For those that aren’t aware, the victim that was airlifted to Shock Trauma is Brandon Standiford, son of Level Volunteer Fire Company Assistant Chief & long time #SHCo friend Jeff “Cornfed” Standiford. Brandon remains at Shock Trauma, battling several injuries. We ask that you please keep Brandon and family in your thoughts & prayers.
