The Susquehanna Hose Company was recently awarded a grant from HII (Huntington Ingalls Industries) towards the purchase of a new High Performance Washer/Extractor, to prevent carcinogens from accumulating on our individual PPE. This grant money will play a huge part in our Cancer Prevention Program & will allow the SHCo to upgrade our current 10 year old washer, to a much better gear extractor. Reducing the risk of carcinogens for our members has been a high priority & this new washer will greatly aid in reducing those risks. We graciously thank HII for supporting the SHCo & we also would like to thank HII-TSD Employee & SHCo Firefighter Ed Grainger for his assistance with this project.
