Chief 5 and the crew from Engine 513 presented 3 year old James Craig a SHCo Hometown Heroes medal, along with a challenge coin, shirt and hat for this efforts during an incident at his residence last week. As his dad was investigating an issue with their boiler, James led his mother out of the house, while using tactics, such as checking door knobs & placing towels along the base of doors, which he learned in the Harford County Fire Prevention Safety Trailer at our open house last fall. This is a prime example of the importance of fire prevention, having working smoke detectors and having a home fire escape plan in place. Job well done, James!!
