The SHCo recently partnered with Boy Scout Troop 965 Webster-Level, MD Eagle Scout Jack Lambert, son of SHCo member Mike Lambert, for an AED install at the Promenade Grille. The SHCo donated the AED, while Jack took care of the rest. This included raising money for the AED housing & electricity, while also filing all the paperwork through the State of Maryland and the Harford County Department of Emergency Services. Eagle scout is the pinnacle of scouting, the highest rank you can achieve. In order to achieve this award a scout must lead a service project that benefits the community. For my project I chose to install an AED enclosure on the side of the Promenade Grille, similar to other enclosures in Havre de Grace and across Harford county. The installation of the AED enclosure allows for 24 hour access to an AED which was previously behind locked doors at the Promenade Grill. In addition to improving access to the AED, narcan, and a stop-the-bleed kit were also added to assist in opioid overdose and bleeding emergency situations. The successful completion of this project would not have been possible without the help of my fellow scouts from Troop 965, Troop 965 adult leaders, my eagle coach Mr. Pete Murray, and Rodney Swam from Mergler Electric.
