Just prior to 830pm, the 0503 Fire Box was transmitted for the reported dwelling fire at 426 S Washington Street. Chief 5-1 was first on scene and reported nothing showing from the three story dwelling, however quickly updated & reported fire on the top floor. Engine 514 (1st Engine) was next on scene, stretched & quickly knocked a small fire in the third floor bedroom. Crews then began checking for extension, which proved negative. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
