The Susquehanna Hose Company would like to congratulate the following members for firefighters of the month for October. Lt. Joey Steelman Tommy Meehan Ron Cardwell and Melvin Wolinski served on the Fire Prevention Committee in October and did a fantastic job. They spent months preparing for the busy month that included the following. An Open House that had over 500 citizens and children show up for by far our best open house yet. The day included fire engine rides rides in the basket of the ladder truck auto extrication drills and a auto fire demonstration. It also included a police K-9 demonstration and a Haz Mat demonstration. The Susquehanna Hose Company also issued 58 smoke detectors on this day to citizens that needed them. The Committee also did the following Evacuation drills at St. Johns Towers and Cornerhouse Apartments. A day spent at Meadowvale Elementary School with hundreds of children. A full day at Abingdon Wal-Mart for the Harford County Safety Day. Three drills at the Constar plants helping with evacuation drills. Fire Safety drills at Play Place America and the Head Start Program. In all a total of 250 man hours were put in by these four members and a total of 332 hours by SHCO. This does not include the hundreds of hours spent by over 50 members that showed up for the SHCO Open House. Congratulations to Octobers Firefighters of the Month.
