On Sunday afternoon at 1554 hours the box was struck for 1022 Chesapeake Drive in the 504 box. Chief 5 Chief 5-1 Engine 512 Engine 513 Engine 514 Engine 515 Mini-Pumper 5 Rescue 5 and Tower 5 marked up by 1557 hours. Dispatch advised the Fastest Volunteers that they received a call reporting a table on fire in the apartment. Chief 5-1 was first to arrive at 1557 hours with nothing evident from the three story apartment building however quickly upgraded to smoke in the apartment. Engine 514 was next to arrive at 1559 hours and was instructed by command to bring a water can to the apartment. Crews found a smoldering end table which was put in check by the can. Shortly after command held the assignment to Engine 514 Tower 5 placing the remainder units ready. Crews ventilated the apartment by the use of a positive pressure fan and then cleared at 1629 hours. One civilian suffered minor burns to the hands however refused treatment. Chief 5 Hurst had the Chesapeake Drive command.
