Just after 10pm on Christmas Eve, the SHCo was dispatched for the reported crash with entrapment in the southbound lanes on the Millard E. Tydings Memorial Bridge (I-95). As units were marking up,
Harford County Department of Emergency Services advised they were receiving reports of a propane truck vs. passenger vehicle with at least one patient trapped. Chief 5-1 was first on scene, confirmed those were the vehicles involved, reported three patients trapped & requested additional EMS units. Quint 5 was next on scene & quickly went to work stabilizing the vehicle, prior to beginning extrication efforts, while Engine 512 followed and stretched a line for cover. Command reported extrication was complete approximately 10 minutes after units called on scene, with the patients then being transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Trauma Center by Havre De Grace Ambulance Corps & Level Volunteer Fire Company.
Other units: Rescue 5, Cecil County Station 6, Harford DES Hazmat (canceled after confirmation of no damage to tanker portion of truck)
