TWO CARBON MONOXIDE LEAKS

 December 8, 2025

Within the last five days, SHCo has responded to two incidents where high levels of carbon monoxide were found in residences, both as a result of faulty furnaces. Fortunately, both residences had working carbon monoxide detectors, which alerted the residents. Attached are flyers showing the potential causes of a carbon monoxide leak, as well as the potential symptoms one may experience with exposure.
As a reminder, the City of Havre de Grace, along with support from the SHCo, passed legislation approximately 15 years ago, mandating carbon monoxide detectors in all residences. More information can be found here: https://ecode360.com/8366794
Carbon monoxide is a dangerous, colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas. Protect you and your family by installing detectors in your home, today!!
