On Sunday evening at 1918 hours the Hose Company was alerted for the water rescue in the Susquehanna River in the area of the Hatem Bridge. Chief 5-1 Chief 5-2 Utility 571 towing Marine 552 and Rescue 5 marked up by 1921 hours. Dispatch advised all units that they received a call from a motorist traveling on the Hatem Bridge who saw a subject in the water who appeared to be in distress. Marine 552 was launched from Tidewater Marina at 1924 hours and reached the area of the subject at 1928 hours. Marine 552 then advised command that there were three subjects in the water however only two were accounted for. Cecil County Marine 7 was able to pull two of the subjects from the water while Divers from Marine 552 started searching for the third victim. At 2040 hours command advised dispatch that the rescue of the third victim was complete. The patient was then transported by Paramedic 591 to a local hospital in cardiac arrest. Hose Company crews were committed to the scene until 2222 hours.
