Just after 1130 hours on Monday, the 0504 Fire Box was struck for the reported house fire in the area of Chesapeake Drive & Concove Way. As units were marking up, Harford County Fire Dispatch advised they were receiving multiple calls reporting smoke from a house on Chesapeake Drive. Chief 5-1 was first on scene with smoke showing from the one story dwelling & requested the Working Fire Dispatch (extra Engine & BLS unit). Engine 512 was next on scene after laying a 3″ supply line from a nearby hydrant, and advanced a 1.75″ handline to the rear, where they found fire in the kitchen. As the fire was being knocked, crews from Engines 513 & 514, the Quint & Tower, conducted searches (proved negative) and began checking for extension. Crews continued to work until approximately 1230 hours before picking up. One firefighter was transported with non-life threatening injuries to a local hospital & the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal.
